These life-sized robots are remote-controlled, battery-powered units that ride a tricycle or drive a car, jeep, tractor, fire truck, etc.. They talk & hear via wireless microphone system and have automatic mouth movement in sync with the sound. Their heads can also be turned by remote-control.
They can be equipped with various optional accessories such as a voice modifier, a remote-controlled horn or siren, cassette player, water squirter, flashing lights, strobe lights and more! An array of readily changeable custom animal-like, or human costumes are available, or you can design a custom character.
Exciting, new option -- the "Detachable heart" -- enables you to remove the character from the vehicle, set it on a teachers desk, counter, table or your lap, and operate it like talking sign. When done with your presentation, simply put the character back in the vehicle and it drives away via remote control.
Mobile robots are extremely effective in situations where you want to 'stop traffic'. They make a lasting impression at trade shows, parades, school's anti-drug safety programs, carnivals, etc.. These highly mobile robots can get anyone's attention by driving up to them (or chasing them down) and starting an interactive conversation.

microphone that allows the operator to speak through the character. The character's
mouth movement is automatically synchronized with the operator's voice.
Talkback system(hearing) with
headset: A microphone and transmitter on the character
and receiver and headset worn by the operator enables the operator to hear what
people
are saying to the robot.
Battery/Charger: 7 AMP battery
for tricycles, 22-33 AMP for vehicles. Each with
approximately a 6 hour run time.
Options:
Choose Character:
Hairy is the standard character.
However, all characters are interchangeable. So you can purchase as
many human or animal character costumes as you would like.
Custom paint with decals:
Customize your vehicle to match law enforcement or

Detachable Heart: Allows
the character to be removed from the vehicle and
perform independently. Set the character on a table or counter and continue
to
talk, rotate the head, or even play the cassette.
Cassette Tape Player: An
auto-reverse tape player that is remotely controlled
on mobile robots. Use any standard cassette to play music or pre-recorded
messages.
voice Modifier: Electronically
modify operator's voice to sound like alien, robot,
monster, or normal by simply changing a four position switch. This is a
belt-pack system.
Siren or Back-up Alarm: Mobile
robots can be equipped with a remotely
controlled siren or back-up alarm, or a combination of these attention-getting
noisemakers.
Lights: Mobile vehicles can
be equipped with remotely controlled special lights such
as rotating beacons, strobes and flashers.
Additional batteries/chargers:
Battery size varies depending on the robot. All robots
should operate six hours per battery. Allow 12 hours to re-charge batteries.
Traveling cases: Rugged cases
for safe transport and storage of valuable robots. Made
from wood, lined with vinyl and carpet, with steel corners.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know what our robot has done for ABC Seamless. I take "The Duck" to every home show, fair, and every event that a home remodeling company would attend. I am here to tell you that the robot you designed for us has helped turn ABC Seamless into a household name as well as "The Duck" a friend to every child it meets! When kids see "The Duck" decals on our car, they actually ask me if I can tell it "Hi" for them. At almost every show we attend "The Duck" gets us massive media attention and just last week I awoke to find my photo on the front page of our local news paper with the caption reading "The Duck." Everyone loves to talk to "The Seamless Duck" and we have purchased a second Duck recently. This is great and I just want to say "Thank You!" |

The Howard County Sheriff's department
of Kokomo, Indiana, purchased a new “Buddy Car” in June 1999.
Sheriff Jerry Marr said he knew it was going to attract a lot of
attention, but when he took it to their county fair he said the results were
“unbelievable”! They promote a
seat belt safety program at the fair and of course his robot “deputy” had
his seat belt on!
Sheriff Marr purchased his robot with three different interchangeable characters. He is using “Hairy” for the younger children, “Edgar” Eagle for the older children and he saves the “deputy” for events like the county fair. They also have the car custom painted and detailed to match the real Indiana Sheriff cars.
Howard County found an unusual benefit with the robot apart from public education: A 5-year-old girl who had been domestically abused did not want to talk with adults but she talked to the robot.
"Watching the faces of kids, and adults,
when they talk with Blazer and Fire Dog is magical.
Everyone treats him as if he is real, because he is.
Blazer can interact with people of all ages. Everyone loves him. With
his truck, the lights, the sirens, the water hose, and the smoke detector Blazer
is able to send a message of fire prevention and safety without being dull and
preachy.
I cannot imagine doing our fire prevention program without Blazer. He is always the star of the show."
